Daddy & Momma- Jimmie and Melanie Hodnett

We hope that we carry the Hodnett name in a way that would make them proud.

Bear's Childhood Home

Bear has little memory of the old Grocery Story, but fast forward over 40 years and the family currently living in that home still had the Hodnett Grocery sign. It was then our hearts felt the desire to create something we could pass to our children. We are Honey and Bear BBQ- but we will always do our best to carry "Hodnett Grocery" wherever we go in our own sauces, rubs and Seasonings.

Dad Hodnett passed in 2023 and our hearts miss him every day, but we will carry the Hodnett name wherever we go and do our best to make him proud. We're passionate about what we do, and we're excited to share our story with you.

Honey's Childhood Home

There's nothing like the memories of childhood. I love the thoughts and memories of running around and playing. Romping through the woods and living life a bit carefree. This house has so many good memories for me and a few harsh ones. I cooked for bear on our first date here, I told him I loved him here, we had our first kiss, right here. We miscarried our precious Baby AJ here. If the walls of this house could talk, there would be stories with laughter and tears, joy and pain, love and loss.  So many memories and so much love was felt inside this house and and hundred of people ate at our table. Mama and daddy had a door that was always open to friends, family and strangers.  With that same love and passion, we share it with our children and hope that we can replicate a little of this southern hospitality through Honey & Bear BBQ.
